The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 拍的很工整，所以就感觉跟流水线一般，没有什么新意和值得回味的地方。全靠演员的表演来带动剧情。妮可和巴登两人扮演夫妻，总感觉没有啥夫妻相。妮可饰演的露西有智慧，又坚韧，可以说是一个十足模范的女性形象，并且在自己的聪明才智之下将丈夫助推到事业的顶峰，但是在感情方面却摔得很惨，遭遇丈夫的背叛，可以说有得有失，但是不妨碍她这样一位充满着魅力的女性形象。

好啰里八嗦啊，剧本怎么回事啊……但男主出轨的有力证据竟然是口红色号认错了，真的有点情景喜剧化哈哈。
算是传记片常有的通病吧 想涵盖的点多而杂 时间线乱 加上镜头语言的单调 让整个叙事很不抓人 Nicole的Lucille Ball 尤其在黑白光影中 总让我不由得恍惚成Renée 但凭借这么中规中矩的成片和虽成熟稳定但缺少话题性和巨大突破的表演 想要拿到Renée在颁奖季的剧本恐怕难度不小
看得很烦躁，主线不清，唯一的印象：Javier唱歌真好听！

哈维巴登和尼可基德曼近年来最完美的表演。群像戏也给力。女主尼可基德曼是这次金球奖强有力竞争者。
绝对是Nicole Kidman演绎生涯中最佳表演。不是很明白为何amazon一直不让放出评价，到目前都没解禁，也不能打分，但是这部电影非常精彩，不仅生动刻画了旧时代好莱坞的刻板、守旧、种族和性别歧视，也鲜活地讲述了Lucille Ball作为一个喜剧女演员当年遭遇的事业和婚姻上的不公待遇。
索金剧本水准还行，下次别拍了...
影片讲述的那一周她同时遭遇了事业危机和婚姻危机，被非美活动委员会调查，怀疑丈夫出轨，焦虑和不安全感影响了她的思维。
挺喜欢最后十分钟，前面女主一直有点抓马，有点让人讨厌，后面好很多，反倒是一直让人很喜欢的男主变得让人讨厌了，基德曼女士还这么美不合理啊
不理解这部的评分怎么这么低，明明故事的后劲非常大，看到后面才有种被抽丝剥茧、柳暗花明的感觉，最后的结尾更是点睛之笔，把前面铺陈的剧中剧、事业、家庭三条线的矛盾高潮汇聚在了一个点，又巧妙地运用一个神情状态的忘词表演去意味深长地讲完了这个故事。第一次看到妮可在剧情片中奉献出这么有力量感的表演，相比之前演烂了的一堆“深情白玫瑰”角色，这次更能展现她表演上的跨度。其实看看这部再看看《斯宾塞》，剧本深度的挖掘上真是高下立见。
传记，不熟悉原型，我仔细欣赏了40分钟和结局，主要看看奥斯卡提名的两位主演和一位男配。主演都很娴熟，妮可化妆后我只认识她的眼神，两人初次见面那天的戏很有趣，一夜风流后妮可当面打电话给未婚夫说分手。JK西蒙斯戏份太少。
你说她爱家吧，情节都是她们两公婆在为事业奋斗。你说她时间跨度不大吧，这导演还乱序回溯。总之就是乱七八糟
太无聊了吧，叽叽喳喳零碎不堪，看似以天为单位的推进剧情，其实节奏和内容每天都一样。而且我也不喜欢妮可基德曼的表演，比起同类型同样提名了奥斯卡女主角的劳模姐，个人觉得妮可输了。不停的快进，然后怀疑自己后进了，怎么还是一样的情节和场景。全片都是美式娱乐圈上流社会的那种端着劲儿的表达，看的让人觉得乏味又可笑。我现在觉得美国这种大导演其实很多都进入了一个桎梏和瓶颈，已经玩不出什么新花样了。
