The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 在简单的主线上插满梗的爆米花喜剧，没有预期的GTA感。背景在那，却没有得到充分的发挥。内核没有深挖，主题肤浅，还是美国佬那套自由。模板化强，缺乏惊喜。节奏控制稀烂。整体一般。
说实话，电影完后想想，挺心疼男主的，人工智能最大的悲哀，恐怕就是孤独吧～
三星半，剧本没有特别像游戏玩家写出来的，有些地方比较想当然。但是有些地方玩梗还是可以，介于有趣和无聊之间的作品吧，可以一看。

结尾处的浪漫还是给了我们一个惊喜，原来Guy的设定是男程序员写给女主的一封情书啊
预告片里基本啥都有，但展开得不赖，就问新时代谁能比肩牛姐
是那种不用费脑的商业娱乐片，别深究逻辑就能收获两个小时的快乐。Guy是永远走不出那道门的“楚门”，但依然可以找到自身的价值和意义，跨越两个世界的小恋情还有点好磕。RR很帅很认真很搞笑，Jodie游戏里的造型简直比现实造型老上10岁……翻唱牛姐Fantasy的版本很有感觉。尊重NPC从广大游戏玩家做起~
搞笑版头号玩家，漫威收购福克斯以后的第一部梦幻联动居然是这部，看完全片扫突然很想看杀死伊芙，以及查宁塔图姆真的要把我笑死了
合格的商业片。游戏版楚门的世界，轻松+愉快版西部世界。漫威梗爆笑。
解压爆米花大片，无脑爽，随便看。不过自从瑞安演了小贱贱爆火，从此他演什么都像小贱贱了。不知道这对于一个演员来说是好事还是坏事。
游戏版楚门的世界，NPC自我意识的苏醒和精神世界的绿洲，未有明显的深入，而是提倡把握当下的真实，各种彩蛋和细节十分丰富，这个疫情之下的暑期档最令人开怀的一部，非常推荐！

我在怀疑自己是不是也是一个NPC，正每天被人PUV。。。
3.5到4 。对我而言，它更像是西部世界的温情版。只不过西部世界已经和与现实融合。而它还是依赖online而已。毁灭服务器那里又让我想起到了去年看过的特德姜的《呼吸》里有一个短篇，而精神内核也略老套。更像是借NPC之口来改变或者说激励现实中不敢改变自己，对新事物和新世界驻足不前的怯懦的我们。可能最近我一直处于逃避可耻但很用的状态。所有电影前半段很难让我非常欣赏。而且前面的那些致敬和彩蛋我也不是非常熟悉。直到快结束时突然出现的美队的盾牌和光剑。OMG。还能这么玩呢。女主依然带着浓浓的小变态的气质。很难想像居然是女码农。还是游戏里样子更贴她。不过最后她依然选择了现充的生活。那一句，我是写给你的一封情书。很难让文艺少女又玩过角色扮演网游的我不得不得心甘情愿多加一粒星。
①设定挺有趣的，剧情竟然这么俗套；②平平无奇的瑞安·雷诺兹…就跟平平无奇的古天乐一样是不成立的，一看就是主角啊

也就是王者峽谷里的超級兵和野怪、龍突然不肯給大家打了。
相当惊喜，在情节主线并无突破的情况下专注细节，创造了不少辉煌时刻，的确可称游戏版楚门世界，资深游戏迷估计会打五星。
设定固然不新鲜，剧情也颇套路，但还是获得了很多乐趣，光剑什么的让我一秒激动起来了，漫威彩蛋就没感觉，最后处理跨次元恋爱的方式也算不错。ps：查宁塔图姆still got it！
过得去吧。原本以为游戏的设定可以让场景和动作更加天马行空，没想到也就是不过不失，也就第一场弹跳大楼比较好玩。个人是觉得彩蛋和客串比正片更加令人兴奋。
